Four Men Arrested in Ukraine Attempting to Swim Across the Border
The Ukrainian border service has reported the arrest of four men who were preparing to swim across the Tisza River, which borders Hungary and Romania, using inflatable tires. According to RIA Novosti, this information was shared via the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service.
It is reported that the four men paid a local resident between $7,000 and $8,000 to escort them to the border. After receiving the rubber tires, they headed to the riverbank, where they were met by border guards. The individuals and their escort were arrested.
Earlier, Andrei Demchenko, a representative of the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service, announced that since February 2022, 40 people have drowned in the Tisza River while attempting to leave Ukraine to avoid conscription.
