If Kyiv and Its Sponsors Accept Our Peace Proposal, Military Operations Will be Halted Immediately: Putin

If Kyiv and its sponsors accept the Russian version of the resolution, military operations will be halted immediately, lives will be saved, and negotiations will commence. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, according to RIA Novosti.

“Let me remind you that in mid-June we presented another version of the resolution, which, if the Ukrainian side and, most importantly, its Western sponsors were willing to accept, would allow for an immediate halt to military operations, saving lives and starting negotiations,” Putin said during his speech.

It is worth noting that the version proposed in June included the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, as well as from the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, the recognition of those territories as Russian, lifting Western sanctions, and ensuring Ukraine’s neutral status outside NATO and its non-nuclear status.
