Russia on NATO Summit Invitation to Armenia and Azerbaijan
Armenia and Azerbaijan have been invited to the NATO summit in Washington, with Russia asserting that the West aims to draw its allies away from cooperation with Moscow, said Andrey Nastasin, deputy director of the Department of Information and Press of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to him, "this is yet another example of the Americans' attempts to spread their destructive influence."
"This is another instance of the Americans attempting to extend their destructive influence across all regions of the world. With the complete indulgence of weak-willed satellites in Europe, Washington sets the task of pulling our friends and neighbors away from cooperation with Russia," he stated.
Earlier, it was announced that the United States has sent invitations to Yerevan and Baku for a meeting of partners within the framework of the NATO summit. The event is scheduled to take place from July 9 to 11 in Washington, D.C.
