Zelensky Appeals to the US Regarding Russia

The US must allow Ukraine to strike Russian military airports with American missiles, claims Vladimir Zelensky in an interview with the Philadelphia Inquirer.

“We must be given the opportunity today to hit deep into Russian territory with ATACMS missiles,” he stated.

Zelensky also described US President Joe Biden's decision to allow the Ukrainian armed forces to strike Russian territory bordering Ukraine as inadequate. President Vladimir Putin had stated in late May that representatives of NATO countries should account for “what they are playing with” when discussing plans to permit strikes on “legitimate targets” in Russia with missile systems supplied to Ukraine by the West.

As noted by press secretary Dmitry Peskov, alliance countries are consciously stepping into a new phase of tension, provoking Ukraine to continue the pointless war. This will inevitably have consequences and ultimately inflict great damage on the interests of those countries that have taken the path of escalating the conflict, he emphasized.
