Tiknizyan Rejects Zenit
The St. Petersburg team Zenit is no longer intending to acquire defender Nair Tiknizyan from Moscow's Lokomotiv. This was reported by Metaratings.
According to the source, the 25-year-old player was unable to reach an agreement with the club regarding the terms of a work contract and decided to withdraw from the negotiation process on his own.
In the previous season, Tiknizyan played 30 matches in all competitions for Lokomotiv, scoring 9 goals and providing 6 assists. His value, according to the reputable Transfermarkt portal, is estimated at €6.5 million. Tiknizyan's current contract with the railwaymen is set to last until 2026.
Media reports suggest that Moscow’s Spartak is also interested in him. Tiknizyan became a Lokomotiv player in the summer of 2021, transferring from CSKA, where he was a graduate. He has also played for Russia's youth national team and participated in the 2020 European Championship.
This spring, the defender made his debut for the Armenian national team in the qualifiers for the UEFA Euro 2024, playing three matches and scoring one goal.
