No Police Officer Held Accountable for June 12 Incidents, Lawyer Says
It is extremely concerning that no police officer has been held accountable for the events of June 12. This statement was made today, June 17, by lawyer Sergei Harutyunyan.
“The footage shows how one of the police officers grabs a young man by his hair; it is unimaginable brutality, and I commend Colonel Azizyan for intervening,” he said, adding that they cannot ignore the fact that there are also honorable police officers among their ranks.
The lawyer assured that police officers who crossed the border will be held accountable. He noted that the 27 individuals arrested in recent days have been released.
