Zelensky Meets with Pope Francis
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Pope Francis during his visit to Italy, where they discussed Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the Vatican's role in establishing peace, and the return of abducted Ukrainian children. Zelensky shared this information on social media on Friday, as reported by UNN.
During his visit to Italy, he expressed gratitude to His Holiness for prayers for peace for Ukraine, spiritual closeness with our people, and humanitarian aid for our nation, Zelensky wrote.
He stated that the two sides discussed the consequences of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, Russian aerial terror, and the complex energy situation. "They also talked about the peace formula, the role of the Holy See in establishing a just and sustainable peace for Ukraine, and expectations from the global peace summit. We value the Vatican's participation in the summit and efforts aimed at peace, particularly regarding the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia," the president noted.
