Video: Head of the State Revenue Committee Discusses Church Taxation
I believe that anything intended for religious purposes should not be taxed. However, if something is being sold and money is being collected for it, it is worth considering. This was stated by the Head of the State Revenue Committee, Rustam Badasyan, during a briefing with journalists regarding the taxation of the Church.
“If a believer wishes to make a donation without specifying a purpose, there is no problem. However, if a certain item is being sold for profit, it is clear that it should be taxed,” Badasyan noted.
Earlier, a representative from the Civil Contract party, Tovinar Vardanyan, mentioned that the faction is working on a draft bill to implement the taxation of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church.
