VIDEO: 29 Coal-Loaded Wagons Derail, Forest Fire Breaks Out in Russia
In the Amur region of Russia, 29 coal-loaded wagons have derailed. This information has been reported by the Eastern Interregional Department of the Transport Investigative Committee via their Telegram channel.
“As a result of the accident, 29 wagons and two supports were damaged, and the contact network wires were also disrupted. Train traffic has been temporarily halted. There are no casualties. The causes of the incident and the extent of the damage are being investigated,” the publication states.
According to preliminary data, the incident occurred today in the Shimanov district at the 7759th kilometer of the Transbaikalian railway between the Seletkan and Ice stations. Additionally, a forest fire has broken out. It is unclear whether the incident caused the fire.
