It Was Like a Village of Ghosts, I Had Never Seen Kiranț Like This: Bishop Bagrat Returned from the Village
The leader of the Tavush Diocese and the leader of the 'Tavush for the Fatherland' movement, Bishop Bagrat, has just returned from the village of Kiranț. In an interview with journalists, he elaborated on the situation in the village.
“They are asking not to be left alone. The people were encouraged, saying, ‘Go all the way, don’t stop anywhere, we are behind you.’ These people were crying today, and those tears need to be addressed. It’s a tragedy of human lives. The village was not the one I knew; life has changed. When we entered the village, it was as if we were in a ghost town. There was absolutely no one around, and I had never seen such a thing in a village before.
People are hiding in their corners, living like the dead. They have killed the souls of the people and taken away their dignity. When they found out I was in the village, they immediately gathered, and everyone’s request and wish is encouragement that this disaster must stop,” the Bishop recounted.
