VIDEO: Lawmakers Attempt to Access Kiranq via Alternate Routes
A group of lawmakers from the 'Armenia' faction of the National Assembly, who were denied entry to Kiranq by the police, were forced to use a field bypass to reach the village. It is noteworthy that a large number of police officers are currently monitoring the entrance to Kiranq. The head of the Tavush regional police has announced that no one is allowed entry from the local residents of Kiranq, as border guards are carrying out operations.
In this regard, the National Security Service of Armenia has also issued a statement, declaring, 'The Border Troops of the National Security Service of Armenia are conducting preparatory work aimed at taking on the protection of the state border of the Republic of Armenia in the area of Kiranq village in Tavush region. Due to security and operational necessity, the entry of citizens who are not registered in the Kiranq community has been temporarily restricted.'
It should be noted that cultural figures have also traveled to Kiranq, and their entry has also been denied.
