Russian Troops Withdrawn from Nagorno-Karabakh May Be Deployed to Ukraine: BILD
Russian troops withdrawn from Nagorno-Karabakh may be deployed to Ukraine. This week, Russia began withdrawing its "peacekeeping forces" from the region, where they have been stationed since the autumn of 2020. The troop contingent consisted of around 2,000 soldiers. They are being transported by train along with military equipment from Azerbaijan to Dagestan.
As noted by BILD's open data analysis expert Julian Röpke, there are already "certain concerns" that this troop contingent could be sent to Ukraine. The "peacekeepers" are equipped with dozens of relatively new BTR-82A armored personnel carriers. As Röpke previously reported, the Russian army at the front lines in Ukraine has a pressing need for modern infantry fighting vehicles and armored transports.
