Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Yerevan: Victim Dies on Site
Today, April 19, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 04:50, a 25-year-old resident of Yerevan, Vahe A., struck a pedestrian while driving his Hyundai Sonata on Tamantsiner Street near the CPC gas station, as reported by Shamshyan.com.
The driver did not flee the scene and attempted to assist the injured pedestrian, a 61-year-old local resident named Yeghisapet T., calling for an ambulance. The medical team that arrived promptly confirmed the pedestrian's death.
A criminal investigation has been initiated by the investigative department regarding the incident. In accordance with the investigator's instructions, the vehicle has been moved to the protected area of the Police Department in Yerevan. The driver underwent a sobriety test and it was found that he was sober.
According to reports from citizens gathered at the scene, one of the main reasons for the accident was the lack of external lighting.
