Iran Calls for Restraint from Armenia and Azerbaijan
Iran is urging Armenia and Azerbaijan to exercise restraint and continue dialogue on the peace agenda. This was stated by Mehdi Sobhanin, Iran's ambassador to Armenia, during a press conference.
“We are concerned about the potential escalation of tension in the region, which harms not only the peoples of the region but also the neighbors of Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Sobhanin said.
According to him, dialogue and diplomacy are essential for easing tensions, as well as the exclusion of violations of sovereignty and territorial integrity, while respecting international law.
He emphasized that war has never solved problems.
