Photo: Nurse at Vanadzor Penitentiary Attempts to Smuggle Prohibited Items Hidden in Lingerie
Officers from the Operational Division of the Territorial Department of the Penitentiary Service of the Republic of Armenia received operational information about nurse E. A. from the Vanadzor subdivision of the Ministry of Health's Penitentiary Medicine Center attempting to transfer prohibited items to one of the convicted individuals.
The penitentiary service reported that on April 14, around 09:10, the security and safety division officers of the Vanadzor penitentiary carried out an inspection of E. A. before she entered the residential area, based on the aforementioned operational information.
As a result, two mobile phones, a charger, and a charging cable were discovered hidden in her lingerie. The nurse confessed that the prohibited items were to be handed over to one of the inmates in exchange for money. E. A. has been apprehended by the operational officers and presented to the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
