No New Operations Planned Against Israel, Says Iran's Foreign Minister
Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stated during a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan that Tehran does not plan to conduct new operations against Israel unless it is compelled to respond to new aggression. This was reported to TASS by a diplomatic source in Ankara.
“The Iranian Foreign Minister said that the operation against Israel has ended, and Iran will not initiate new actions unless it is attacked. Abdollahian mentioned that if Iran is attacked again, it will respond more sternly,” the source said.
Fidan, for his part, expressed that Turkey “does not wish for further escalation in the region following Iranian actions against Israel.” “He conveyed to his interlocutor that Ankara wants to see steps that escalate tensions halted,” the source added.
Additionally, Fidan had a phone conversation with UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron. According to the diplomatic source, “both ministers emphasized the necessity of preventing further escalation of tensions in the region.”
