Powerful Cyclone Penetrates Armenia from the South
The Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center of Armenia has issued a statement regarding weather forecasts.
According to the statement, "Due to the penetration of a powerful cyclone from the south, heavy snowfall is expected on March 19 and the night of March 19-20 in Shirak, Lori, the foothills of Tavush, the mountains of Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Vayots Dzor, Gegharkunik, and the mountainous and foothill areas of Syunik. In some areas, blizzards and low horizontal visibility are anticipated."
In Yerevan, light rain is expected on March 18 during the day, while from March 19-23, rain will occur intermittently, with intense precipitation expected on March 19.
In the regions, intermittent precipitation and fog are predicted on March 18 during the day and from March 19-23 in significant parts of the districts, with snow falling in the mountainous areas. On March 19 and the night of March 20, localized heavy precipitation is expected.
The wind will be from the south at 2-5 m/s, with gusts expected to increase to 15-18 m/s in some areas on March 21-22. The temperature is expected to gradually decrease by 6-9 degrees Celsius during the day of March 18-19, and will rise by 5-7 degrees Celsius on March 20-21.
