EU Countries Must Aim to Double Arms Orders, Michel
The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, has stated that EU countries must double their orders for arms and ammunition. Michel made this announcement in an article for the Euractiv portal.
According to the head of the European Council, Europe has not made sufficient investments in its security and defense for decades, and now, facing the greatest security challenge since World War II, it must develop its defensive readiness.
“We must aim to double what we are purchasing from European industry by 2030. This will provide our companies with more predictability. Long-term contracts will also encourage them to expand their production capacities,” Michel wrote.
