On March 12, at 12:15 PM, the police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received a report from "Wigmore Clinic" medical center that an ambulance team had transported a 17-year-old named Rafik H. from Mamigonian Street in Yerevan after he was stabbed. He succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
A criminal proceeding has been initiated.
As a result of operational and investigative measures undertaken by the criminal investigators of the Arabkir police department and investigators of the Arabkir investigative division, it was determined that Rafik H. had been involved in a dispute days prior with a 21-year-old resident of Yerevan. The latter, in agreement with six of his friends, went to clarify matters on March 12 near the college where the 17-year-old was studying. A fight broke out. Rafik H. attempted to flee but was stabbed by the 21-year-old and fell to the ground, after which he was beaten with feet, hands, and a bat. Following the intervention of citizens present at the scene, the attackers fled.
Utilizing the intelligence received, criminal investigators from the Arabkir division, in collaboration with the Directorate of Yerevan and the Sisian division, conducted operational and investigative measures that led to the discovery and arrest of the 21-year-old, along with two accomplices aged 22 and 21, in the city of Sisian around noon on March 13.
Efforts are underway to identify and bring other participants to justice. The criminal proceedings continue.
