Arzni 2-Yerevan Main Water Pipeline Experiences Nighttime Accident
In the area known as "Korea Gorge" in Yerevan, the Arzni 2 – Yerevan main water pipeline has fallen into the river due to falling rock debris and changes in the course of the Hrazdan River, resulting in yet another accident. This was reported by the "Veolia Water" company.
"The Arzni 2-Yerevan main water pipeline experienced an accident last night. Although the Veolia team has been on site since the night, the extent of the work is enormous and will last several days. This means that water supply to the settlements serviced by the pipeline will experience disruptions for several days," the statement read.
"Our specialists are already working on a proper distribution mechanism for the water supply entering Yerevan to mitigate the water supply issues in the settlements served by the Arzni 2 pipeline," it added.
It is also noted, "So far, Veolia Water has continuously conducted repairs and reconstructions on various sections of the pipeline to alleviate the problem and has regularly contacted relevant authorities, informing them of the issue, expecting that they will address the problems of widening the Hrazdan River bed and preventing landslides."
