Investigative Committee Reports Armed Robbery at Gas Station in Yerevan
On March 2, at 05:00, the Heratsi Medical Complex No. 1 received a report that a 54-year-old resident of Yerevan was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the left tibia, the Investigative Committee announced.
At 05:15, the Erebuni Medical Center also received a report that another 54-year-old citizen from the same address presented with head injuries.
In connection with the incident, the Yerevan Investigative Department's Shengavit division of the Investigative Committee of Armenia initiated a criminal case under paragraphs 3 and 5 of part 2 of Article 252 of the RA Criminal Code (armed robbery committed by a group) and part 1 of Article 335 (illegal trafficking of weapons and ammunition).
The two individuals have been recognized as victims and have been interrogated. A forensic examination has been appointed for them. An investigation of the crime scene has been conducted, and recordings from surveillance cameras have been seized. Several individuals have also been interrogated.
As a result of the investigative and procedural preliminary actions, as well as operational intelligence measures, information was obtained that two unidentified individuals, armed and wearing medical masks, entered the relaxation room of the gas station located at 28/7 Arshakuniats Avenue in Yerevan. Upon encountering resistance from staff members, they struck one of the employees on the head with the weapon's handle, inflicting bodily harm, and fired two shots with an unidentified firearm, one of which hit another employee in the left leg, resulting in a gunshot wound.
However, these two unidentified suspects were unable to complete the crime and fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and instructions have been given to the Shengavit division of the police to identify and apprehend the perpetrators and to gather additional information relevant to the investigation.
