Armenia's Military Collaborations Have One Goal: Marukyan
Armenia’s special envoy Edmon Marukyan has responded to a statement from Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding remarks made by French President Emmanuel Macron during a press conference with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Paris on February 21.
“I read the statement from Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to the constructive and peaceful declarations made during the joint press conference of the leaders of Armenia and France yesterday in Paris. It is astonishing that an official representative of a country that, while ostensibly on a path to peace, continues to conduct aggressive military exercises and arm itself, issues statements condemning tensions and destabilization in the region, based solely on a press conference,” Marukyan wrote.
“Aren't Azerbaijan's warlike statements, ethnic cleansing, the failure to withdraw occupying forces from Armenia's sovereign territories, and ongoing border provocations the reasons for destabilization in our region? The military collaborations of the Republic of Armenia have one goal – to raise the level of resistance and ensure the integrity of our sovereign territories,” he added.
It is noteworthy that earlier, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs had condemned the statements made by French President Emmanuel Macron.
