UN Has No Information on Russia's Plans to Deploy Nuclear Weapons in Space
The information suggesting that Russia is allegedly planning to deploy nuclear weapons in space is a media fabrication. This was stated by the official representative of the UN Secretary-General, Stefan Dujarric, during a press briefing.
“What we are seeing are media speculations. We have no substantial information. Naturally, UN Secretary-General António Guterres calls on all member states to avoid an arms race in space,” he said.
Earlier, Jake Sullivan, the U.S. National Security Advisor, mentioned that he would hold a closed meeting with Congressional leadership and key committees on February 15 to discuss threats to national security.
