We would not have had 4 casualties if the Russians hadn't isolated Nerkhin Hand from EU observers: Ioannisyan

The Russian border guards must be expelled from the junction of Nerkhin Hand. This was stated by Daniel Ioannisyan, head of the ‘Informed Citizens’ Initiative, on his Facebook page.

“There is only one spot along the entire Armenian-Azerbaijani border where EU observers cannot approach, and that is Nerkhin Hand. At the junction of the road leading to Nerkhin Hand, Russian border guards have set up a blockade and are preventing EU observers from reaching the village. As a result, Azerbaijanis do whatever they want in Nerkhin Hand, then proclaim that it is within the ‘zone of responsibility of the EU observers’, even though they know very well that their ally, the Russians, do not allow EU observers to approach,” he noted.

“I am confident that we would not have had 4 casualties if the Russians had not isolated Nerkhin Hand from EU observers. P.S. Expelling the Russian border guards from Nerkhin Hand is even more urgent than from Zvartnots,” he added.
