VIDEO: We Admit That We Cannot Say We Have a Perfect Transportation System - Deputy Mayor
We admit that we cannot say that we have a perfect or near-perfect transportation system, and on the other hand, we can't say that we have the transportation system that was in place when the current fare was established, said Yerevan Deputy Mayor Suren Grigoryan during discussions on transportation fares.
“Considering that the transportation system is subject to continuous reforms, we must align our policies with these changes. The current situation cannot continue under the existing fare logic. The vehicles in which people were traveling hunched over and in a humiliating manner must be eliminated. New vehicles and new quality also imply new, higher costs,” stated the Deputy Mayor.
It should be noted that Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan announced that discussions on the increase of transportation fares will take place today; a vote will not be held.
