VIDEO: How Erupting Volcano Lava Covers Snow Layers in Iceland
In Iceland, a video has been successfully captured showing how erupting volcano lava covers snow layers. The footage was recorded by a National Geographic drone.
It is noteworthy that a state of emergency has been declared in Iceland after volcanic lava damaged key hot water pipelines. Thousands of people in the Reykjanes Peninsula have been left without water and electricity. This is the third such eruption in the region since December.
The Blue Lagoon, one of Iceland's main tourist attractions, has also been forced to close due to the flow of lava.
The Icelandic Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management has stated that it is trying to determine how to ensure the hot water supply for more than 20,000 people.
