Roads Closed in Armenia Due to Heavy Snowstorm
As of February 5 at 17:00, the Ttujur-Navur road is closed to all types of vehicles due to a severe snowstorm, according to the Road Department.
“Due to the snowstorm, the roads from the Hargis intersection to Goris, from Shinohayr to Tatev, and the Vardenyats Pass are impassable for vehicles with trailers, while other types of vehicles are finding it difficult to navigate,” the report states.
Snow is also falling in the regions of Jermuk, Sisian, Akhuryan, and Aparan. Moreover, blizzard conditions are reported on roads from Dzorak to the Sevan Peninsula, as well as on the Hrom-Artik-Alagyaz route, and in the regions of Ashotzk, Amasya, and Gavarr, as well as in the Meghri and Jambarak mountain passes.
It has been confirmed that other inter-state and republican roads remain open. Road construction crews are engaged in clearing and treating the roads with salt and sand.
