Recently it became known that Azerbaijanis have destroyed a monument erected in occupied Martakert in memory of participants of the 44-day war, Harut Babayan and Garik Mnatsakanyan. Moreover, Azerbaijani Telegram channels reported on this proudly, framing it as the demolition of a 'terrorist monument.'

This was stated by Azerbaijani expert Tatevik Hayrapetyan. 'I am sure that they have publicized this information specifically to check for reactions. If, according to their logic, participants in the war are considered 'terrorists,' then what could happen concerning the Brotherhood Cemetery in Stepanakert, where heroes of the first and second wars, as well as heroes of the April war, are buried? This is a very dangerous precedent that needs to be seriously addressed and should be met with preventive measures; we need to raise awareness on this issue and not allow the continuation of Azerbaijan's criminal actions. This can be achieved by not remaining silent and by taking action. This concerns our heroes, our struggle, its value, and its symbols. Moreover, that struggle was imposed upon us—by attacking us and attempting genocide. It's regrettable that this has now been 'forgotten' due to the propaganda nonsense being presented,' she wrote.

The Azerbaijani expert also added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia has serious work to do on this issue.
