Salaries of Researchers to Increase
Today, during the Government session, the amount and procedure for granting a monthly bonus for scientific degree holders working in budget financing base programs in scientific and technological activities with a normal working hours duration was established.
“For the third consecutive time, the salaries of researchers in Armenia have increased, and the process is not yet complete,” announced Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during today’s government meeting. According to him, salaries will increase by up to 300 percent.
“Respected doctors and candidates of sciences should engage more in scientific activities in those places where salaries have been raised and will continue to be raised in order to also receive their scientific work bonuses,” he stated.
The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Zhanna Andreasyan, also informed that the new law on higher education and science changes the approach to awarding scientific degrees. “We are transitioning from a two-tier system to a one-tier system, and yes, we are regulating issues related to awarding degrees and responding to the problems that arise,” she said, adding that the new regulation has been developed and is being circulated.
