How Many Citizens Have Declared They Have Rental Apartments in Armenia
As of December 2023, 3,000 citizens have submitted declarations indicating they are in rental agreements. This was stated by Rustam Badasyan, the head of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, during a briefing with journalists.
"If the landlord has not signed a proper contract for various reasons, and is renting by the hour or day, we have developed a declaration template that allows them to submit their declarations from December 1 to February 1," the head of the SRC noted.
He emphasized that all these citizens must submit an income declaration. It is worth recalling that as of December 1, 2023, amendments to the Tax Code of Armenia have come into force, which stipulate fines for those who do not pay taxes on income from rentals. The fine is set at 5% of the property's value, but no more than 500,000 AMD. In the event of repeated violations within a year, the fine will be doubled but will not exceed 1 million AMD.
