Foreign Nationals Serving in the Russian Armed Forces to Receive Russian Citizenship
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree granting Russian citizenship to foreign nationals who have signed contracts to serve in the armed forces. This information has been reported by Russian media.
According to the decree, "foreign citizens who have signed military service contracts in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation or military formations during the special military operation have the right to apply for Russian citizenship."
Additionally, foreign nationals who are undergoing military service in the armed forces or military units during the special operation, as well as military personnel who have retired from the army during the same period, will also be eligible to receive a Russian passport.
It has been reported that the same rights extend to the wives, husbands, or children of foreign service members.
