Iran on Peace Process for Resolving Disputes Between Armenia and Azerbaijan: Kanani
The Iranian Foreign Minister has held meetings with several Armenian counterparts, discussing various issues and highlighting Iran's support for a peaceful resolution of disputes between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was announced by the spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanani, summarizing Hossein Amir-Abdollahian's visit to Armenia.
"Iran is ready to contribute to this process and to efforts aimed at establishing stable peace in the region and respects the territorial integrity of the countries based on well-known principles," he stated.
Discussing the opening of Armenia's consulate in Tabriz, Kanani mentioned that within the framework of a previously reached agreement, Iran was to open its consulate in Kapan, while Armenia was to do the same in Tabriz. A memorandum of understanding was signed several years ago, thus allowing Armenia to reciprocally open its consulate in Tabriz.
