London Mayor Refuses to Hand Over Vehicles Designated for Scrapping to Kyiv
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has declined to transfer vehicles designated for scrapping to Kyiv. The Daily Telegraph reports this, citing Khan's letter addressed to Kyiv's Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
Klitschko had requested old SUVs and trucks that could be useful in the conflict zone. However, the London Mayor stated that he cannot violate the rule that the removal of vehicles must benefit the residents of the British capital from both economic and environmental perspectives. The transfer of vehicles to Kyiv contradicts this guideline.
As noted by the publication, after the military operations in Ukraine, British volunteers are transporting vehicles there, which are painted in camouflage colors, fitted with machine guns or missile installations, and used for various purposes from combat to the evacuation of the wounded.
