Another Lavish Mosaic Building in Yerevan Faces the Fate of the 'Kukuruznik'
Another lavish mosaic building in Yerevan, known to locals as the 'ArmenTel' building, has faced a fate reminiscent of the 'Kukuruznik'. This building housed 'ArmenTel' and later 'Beeline', and during Soviet times, it was the location of the 'Special Communications Center'.
According to Sputnik Armenia, the issue is not merely about the building itself but rather about the unique mosaic at the entrance, created from a sketch by artist Hrayr Karapetyan. It is likely that the mosaic has been destroyed, as it is nearly impossible to disassemble and then reassemble it elsewhere.
Auroranews reported that the Yerevan municipality indicated that 'Beeline', as a private company, has sold its building to another private entity. Details about what will be constructed at that site and other aspects of the construction will be provided to us on Monday.
