UNESCO Refuses Baku's Request
UNESCO has rejected Baku's request to assess the condition of monuments in Stepanakert by going through Aghdam. This was reported on X by Nigara Arpadarai, a member of Azerbaijan's parliament and the delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
She stated that UNESCO had asked Azerbaijan for permission to visit Nagorno-Karabakh. "Baku agreed to provide a road to Stepanakert via Aghdam, but UNESCO refused, wishing to go only to Stepanakert to assess the condition of the monuments there," she wrote.
