Is Hayk Marutyan Preparing to Resign His Mandate?
Former Yerevan Mayor and member of the "National Progress" faction, Hayk Marutyan, has been absent from the council meetings.
According to MediaHub, Marutyan is preparing to resign his mandate. However, he is reportedly not in a hurry and is waiting for the budget to be approved before bidding farewell.
The Yerevan Council will discuss the budget for the next year in December.
Sources from the city hall have indicated that Marutyan has also not been visiting the council offices.
Hayk Grigoryan, a member of the "National Progress" faction, stated that he was hearing this information for the first time. When asked whether Marutyan would attend the next session, Grigoryan responded, "I don’t know, but attending the session and resigning the mandate are different matters. At this moment, I cannot confirm whether he will come or not. However, I am hearing about the issues related to resigning the mandate for the first time. There are no such discussions ongoing."
