Maria Zakharova: 'Trying to Sit on Two Chairs Simultaneously Has Never Led to Good Outcomes'
The refusal of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to participate in the CSTO summit and the supply of Western weapons to Yerevan are seen by Russia as interconnected events. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a briefing with journalists, according to RIA Novosti.
According to Zakharova, the last statements and actions of the Armenian leadership, including Pashinyan’s withdrawal from the CSTO Collective Security Council meeting in Minsk, Mr. Grigoryan's candid remarks about Armenia’s so-called 'European integration' or 'non-aligned status', and the increase in supplies of Western weapons to the Republic, as well as Yerevan’s unexpected so-called 'friendship' with the Kyiv regime, are viewed as 'links in one chain'.
The diplomat emphasized that this 'chain' could lead to the 'enslavement' of the country, and that the actions of the West toward Armenia are connected to the failures of their policy in Ukraine.
'The Western program in Ukraine has completely failed. Now the West is clinging to Armenia with its claws,' she added.
