Significant Amount of Weapons Found with Residents Displaced from Artsakh; 11 Detained Transferred to Armenia, Says Interior Minister
There is a significant amount of weapons among the residents displaced from Artsakh, announced Armenia's Interior Minister Vahe Ghazaryan at the National Assembly. According to him, the weapons are both legal and illegal.
“We are cooperating with the staff of the Artsakh police to have a clearer understanding,” he stated.
The Interior Minister also pointed out that there are issues regarding weapons awarded as incentives. “We have information concerning awarded citizens of Armenia, but we have no information regarding awards given to citizens of Artsakh,” he said.
MP Andranik Kocharyan, from the ruling faction, inquired about how individuals detained in Artsakh have been transferred to Armenia and on what grounds. “We have data on this; last week, we identified one person accused of murder in Vanadzor; about 11 individuals have been released, and we have the data on all of them. A few cases are being handled by the National Security Service (NSS) for those accused of state treason, while the others are being dealt with by the police,” added the Interior Minister.
He mentioned that a travel restriction measure has been chosen for all detained individuals.
