Doctor Armen Charchyan Resigns from Parliamentary Mandate
MP from the "Armenia" faction, doctor Armen Charchyan, has resigned from his parliamentary mandate. He announced this to the media.
The lawmaker has already submitted the relevant application to the National Assembly.
It is worth recalling that on June 18, 2021, a recording surfaced on the internet, in which Charchyan urged employees to participate in the parliamentary elections, hinting to not vote in favor of the ruling authorities. On the same day, Charchyan was arrested.
On June 21, the Central Electoral Commission permitted the initiation of criminal proceedings against Charchyan. He was detained and later released on a bail of 15 million AMD.
On August 23, Charchyan was arrested again.
On December 10, the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction decided to release the lawmaker during an urgent session. Under the ruling of Judge Vahe Misakyan, the chosen measure of restraint was a signature not to leave.
