The Rafah crossing on the border with Egypt remains closed as of today, according to reports from the BBC.

There were hopes that the Egyptian Rafah checkpoint would open at the southern border of Gaza to allow trucks carrying much-needed aid to pass and for the transition of Palestinians holding foreign passports to begin.

The Palestinian authorities have reported that following an attack on a house near the Rafah border crossing, 28 individuals have lost their lives, including women and children. Additionally, an airstrike last night resulted in the destruction of a building in the nearby city of Khan Younis, which is located along the route from Gaza to Rafah, claiming another 21 lives according to data from Palestinian authorities.
