Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry Responds to Nikol Pashinyan's Speech at the European Council
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has responded to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's speech at the European Council, asserting that it "demonstrates Armenia's aggressive stance and desire to blame Azerbaijan." According to official Baku, "Armenia's accusations against Azerbaijan are baseless and contradict reports from the United Nations."
Addressing the situation regarding the Lachin corridor, Baku stated that "Azerbaijan holds sovereignty over all roads within its territory, and Armenia's claims of misusage of that road contradict the trilateral agreement signed by the Prime Minister." The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry emphasized that Armenia is "obliged" to ensure the construction of new transport communication routes connecting Azerbaijan's western regions with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, but Yerevan allegedly fails to do so.
