Azerbaijan's Prosecutor's Office Reports the Death of 6 Russian Peacekeepers

The Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan has issued a statement regarding the shooting incident involving Russian peacekeepers' vehicle that occurred yesterday.

The statement notes that on September 20, "Azerbaijani servicemen mistakenly opened fire" at the peacekeepers due to fog, rainy weather, and difficult terrain, believing it to be a vehicle of the Armenian armed forces.

It has been reported that the Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan has initiated a criminal case concerning two incidents in Artsakh that resulted in the deaths of six Russian peacekeepers, with one more injured.

"In both cases, the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan has opened a criminal case under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, with the investigation entrusted to the investigative department of the Prosecutor General's Office," the statement adds.
