Ukraine to Sue Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia Over Grain Ban

Kyiv will sue Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia for not lifting the ban on Ukrainian agricultural products. This statement was made by Ukraine's trade representative Taras Kachkan in an interview with Politico, noting that such actions are legally unjustifiable, and Kyiv intends to take countermeasures against Polish exports of fruits and vegetables.

According to him, Ukraine plans to take legal action against the countries of the World Trade Organization: "I think the whole world should see how EU member states treat their trade partners and allies, because this can also affect other countries."

"In our opinion, the measures taken by Hungary and Poland indicate total distrust towards the European Commission... It is important to prove that these actions are legally unjustifiable. Therefore, we will initiate legal proceedings," Kachkan stated.

Kachkan also mentioned that the blatant disobedience of Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia towards Brussels is not merely an internal EU matter, but has raised what he called "the biggest systemic problem"—whether international trade partners can trust what Brussels says on behalf of the EU.
