Video: Unified Ticketing System Implemented in Yerevan Public Transport

The trial project for the implementation of a unified ticketing system in Yerevan's public transport has been fully completed, and the main program has commenced. The buses are being equipped with special devices for the unified ticketing system. This information has been provided by the Yerevan City Hall.

Within the next month, the installation of the "MAN" buses will be fully completed, after which the unified ticketing system will be introduced in trolleybuses and the metro. By the end of the year, the process will also be completed for all other imported buses.

Immediately after the installation of the special devices, they will be available for use. Currently, a single-use QR code ticket type is accessible. After the complete implementation of the ticketing system, the community will be freed from coin-based service, and passengers will be offered various payment methods through a unified system. There will be paper single-use tickets with QR codes, permanent bus cards, bank cards, and mobile applications.

Experts note that in the initial phase, there may be difficulties related to the use of the devices as well as the service of the unified ticketing system.

Reforms initiated in the capital are progressing in various directions, with the primary goal of establishing a modern, safe, accessible, and convenient transport system in Yerevan.
