Pentagon to Purchase Medium-Range Missiles for Ukraine
The U.S. Department of Defense has signed a contract worth $192 million with Raytheon Missiles and Defense to acquire medium-range air-to-air missiles (AMRAAM) for Ukraine. This was reported by Interfax.
According to a Pentagon statement, the funds for the missile acquisition are allocated from the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative for the 2023 fiscal year.
The contract is set to expire on November 29, 2024. However, the specific number of missiles involved has not been disclosed.
