Belarus Ready to Engage in Ukraine Conflict Resolution: Lukashenko
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated the people of Ukraine on the occasion of Independence Day and stated that Minsk is ready to make efforts for the resolution of the armed conflict. The relevant message was published on the president's official website.
The politician noted that by gaining independence over 30 years ago, Belarus and Ukraine chose their own paths of development, building a future for which the authorities of both countries must create opportunities for dignified coexistence throughout the entire region.
Lukashenko emphasized that Minsk and Kyiv should utilize their proximity to cease the conflict: “The Belarusian side is ready to do everything necessary for this, and even more.”
The president also reminded that the Ukrainian and Belarusian peoples have lived side by side for centuries, in harmony and respect, fighting together against Nazi Germany and restoring their common homeland after the Great Patriotic War.
