Defense Official Demanded a Total of 650,000 AMD Bribe from 5 Citizens
Based on a report received from a citizen, the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia has revealed cases of a defense official demanding bribes from citizens, ranging from 150,000 to 170,000 AMD. This was reported by the Anti-Corruption Committee.
Specifically, during the investigation initiated by the Anti-Corruption Committee, it was established that M. V., who acquired Armenian citizenship, submitted the necessary documents to register with the armed forces on May 2, 2023, before obtaining his passport. On the same day, R. G. called him and offered to expedite the provision of documents and organize the process of not summoning him for future training gatherings in exchange for a bribe of 150,000 AMD to an official of the Ministry of Defense.
Afterward, the citizen lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Committee, based on which a covert investigative action named
