Xi Jinping Personally Warned Putin Against Using Nuclear Weapons in Ukraine
The President of China, Xi Jinping, has personally warned Russian President Vladimir Putin against the use of nuclear weapons in the war in Ukraine. This was reported by the Financial Times, citing Western and Chinese officials.
According to the publication, Putin and Xi discussed this issue during the Chinese leader’s visit to Moscow in March 2023. Sources in the report indicate that the Chinese leader is concerned about the Ukrainian conflict, despite Moscow's support in economic and trade areas.
As noted by one of the Chinese officials, the stance of the People's Republic of China regarding nuclear weapons has been included in the PRC's plan for a peaceful resolution of the situation in Ukraine.
