Abdollahian and Aliyev Meet: What Was Discussed

The Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have agreed to activate the corridor through Iran to Nakhchivan in the near future, Azerbaijani media outlets report, citing the Iranian Foreign Minister.

"This will contribute to the development of Iran-Azerbaijan relations in the field of communications. It can be said that this corridor will play a very important role in linking the main part of Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan. We have conducted extensive discussions with President Ilham Aliyev regarding the opening of communications in the region," Abdollahian stated.

It is noteworthy that Tehran and Baku signed a memorandum on March 11, 2022, regarding the establishment of transportation communications between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan through Iranian territory.
