Zelensky Appeals to Biden
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has called on his American counterpart Joe Biden to invite Ukraine to join NATO during the summit scheduled for July 11-12. This was reported by the Ukrainian portal Klymenko Time.
“The US President supports our future in NATO, but an invitation right now would provide a significant morale boost for Ukrainian soldiers. It is very important for Ukraine to receive this invitation at this time,” Zelensky stated.
Several Ukrainian politicians, including President Zelensky, have emphasized in recent weeks that Ukraine should be given the opportunity to join NATO at the upcoming summit. Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz recently stated that Ukraine's membership in NATO is impossible as long as military operations are ongoing on its territory.
